New Sports Pavilion for Dungiven Celtic Football Club
Client Aspirations
The football club sought to replace temporary changing rooms and social facilities with a purpose-built pavilion to upgrade their amenities for IFA compliance.
Challenges
The project faced constraints including an exposed rural location, restricted funding, and the need to coordinate with an extensive committee and multiple stakeholders.
Design Response
The architects developed a single-storey structure whose profile echoes the Benbradagh mountain backdrop. The design incorporates local rural materials – metal, timber and glass – to harmonise the building with its countryside context. The facility provides four changing rooms (22 players), a 50-person seated viewing terrace, kitchen, club/committee room, referee changing facilities, disabled changing room, storage and associated site works.
