Design of Ballybeen Women's Centre Belfast
Client Aspirations
"Replacement of existing centre that had become tired" with intention to establish "a focal community hub, a centre point, a destination for the local community" and maximise expansion potential.
Challenges
Dense urban residential context, constrained budgets, collaborative stakeholder management and childcare facility integration.
Design Response
Central triple-height atrium with integrated meeting table serves as the building's core. Ground floor houses childcare (pre-school, toddler, baby facilities), drop-in café and main entrance. Second floor accommodates education zones including computer suite, training and meeting rooms.
