Client Aspirations
Club required "a new community pavilion building primarily for meeting and changing rooms for members and local community. It was to be robust, attractive and functional."
Challenges
Site located within a densely populated built up residential area; a symbolic building at the centre of the local community; provide building with permanence, robustness and attraction; working with public funding and large club committee
Design Response
Bespoke sports pavilion comprising 4 changing rooms, referees changing room, physiotherapy room, accessible WC–changing room and a large flexible room for use by the club and local community. Brick finish reinforces a sense of weight and permanence.
