Carn House – Design of Contemporary Bespoke Home County Derry
Client Aspirations
The client sought "a bespoke home that met their needs for their growing family in layout and style" with open plan living, outdoor connection and family accommodation capturing countryside views.
Challenges
The site presented planning difficulties as an infill location between two existing dwellings, requiring outline planning approval. Space constraints limited design options.
Design Response
Three single-storey pitched forms create the solution – one linear block parallel to the road, two others at right angles enclosing an external terrace. The arrival block features natural stone walls and a large picture window. Spaces include living, kitchen, dining, lounge, study, playroom, utility room, bathroom, four bedrooms with en-suites, and double garage.
