Challenges
Location adjacent to a Ring Fort archaeological site.
Design Response
Two linked single-storey blocks drawing inspiration from vernacular architecture with pitched roofs. Each space extends one room deep for natural light. Dark timber and metal cladding helps the structure blend harmoniously into the landscape. Passive design principles optimise ventilation, daylight harvesting and solar gain, whilst energy-efficient systems minimise environmental impact.
