Residential development comprising "5 no. 2 storey detached dwellings with landscaping, shared space and car parking"
Challenges
The site presented several obstacles: an existing church hall structure, an awkwardly shaped and constrained plot, proximity to a neighbouring soccer pitch, plus the need to harmonise with the village's varied architectural heritage.
Design Response
The architects conceived "5 No. 4-bedroom dwellings contained together in a walled garden/shared space" – a solution that establishes identity whilst referencing the area's monastic heritage and traditional walled garden aesthetic.
